Rules of Engagement

Members are urged to adhere to the following with regards to the tone of their conversations and comments:

Conversations should :

• Be based on fact
• Encourage different opinions
• Assume there are different perspectives
• Assume there is more than one solution
• Accepts there is always a better way
• Treat everybody’s point of view as valued and equal
• Respect flaws and the potential for error
• Be based on the question, “What am I doing to make a better Bahamas?”
• Discuss issues
• Regard personalities as incidental

Protocols for website comments:

• You are welcome and encouraged to participate in WTP’s initiative for a better Bahamas by way of broadening the dialogue among those who love our country.
• The WTP Platform is designed to identify and amplify the positive activities and initiatives that are taking place throughout the country. It is also a place to identify those things that we (individually and collectively) are working on or wish to work on, that are not positive. The comments on the WTP Platform are to be constructive, encouraging and optimistic.
• Before posting messages on the Platform, you are asked to peruse the WTP website in order to become familiar with our principles and goals.
• You are invited to participate on the WTP Platform with a sense of empowerment, courteousness, and integrity.

When writing a post, ask yourself:

• Am I building up or tearing down?
• Would I post differently or more appropriately if shared directly with a person?

Please adhere to the following guidelines when posting:

1. Keep comments focused on your own knowledge and experiences.
2. Do not comment on based on rumour, perceived faults and errors of others.
3. Please keep posts relevant to the topic or thread that you are responding to.
4. Never post or refer to private conversations, private messages or private e-mails without explicit prior permission from the other parties or senders.
5. Do not post any private and personal matters.
6. Do not engage in verbal violence, profanity, disrespect, blame, judgment, name-calling, or threats.
7. Never post pornography.
8. Do not post with the purpose of creating, eliciting or continuing conflict and/or drama.
9. Do not post any information or other material protected by copyright without the permission of the copyright owner.
10. Do not use any words, logos or other marks that would infringe upon the trademark, service mark, certification mark, or other intellectual property rights of the owners of such marks without the permission of such owners.
11. Do not post any confidential information or any information that would infringe upon the proprietary, privacy or personal rights of others.
12. The posting party grants WTP and users of this blog a non-exclusive, irrevocable license to display, copy, publish, distribute, transmit and print such information or material without payment to the posting party.

The WTP Platform is being monitored. Should the need arise, comments may be moved, edited, or deleted. If a user repeatedly ignores, flaunts or disregards these posting guidelines, the user’s account may be, suspended, and/or permanently closed.
